What’s Open & Closed in Owen Sound for Easter Weekend

As the Easter long weekend approaches, the City is sharing updates on facility closures and adjusted hours.

City Hall & Greenwood Cemetery Office:

Closed Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. Regular hours of operation resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7.

Public Works Admin Building:

Closed Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. Regular hours of operation resume at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7.

Transit:

Owen Sound Transit (OST) and Mobility Transit will be closed on Friday, April 3 and operating as usual on Monday, April 6.

Guelph Owen Sound Transit (GOST) will continue operating its regular schedule every day.

Waste Management:

The Transfer Station is closed on Friday, April 3 and open for regular hours on Monday, April 6.

As scheduled in the 2026 Waste Management Calendar, waste will not be collected on Friday, April 3. Instead, the Friday Eastside route will be picked up on Monday, April 6.

Compost Site:

The Leaf & Yard Waste Compost Site is still closed for the season.

Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library:

The library is closed on Friday, April 3; Sunday, April 5; and Monday, April 6. It will be open regular hours on Saturday, April 4 and will resume regular hours at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7.

Tom Thomson Art Gallery:

The TOM will be closed on Friday, April 3, and open for regular hours on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The TOM will be closed Sunday and Monday as usual.

Recreational Facilities:

The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre will be operating during regular hours throughout the weekend, but will be closing early at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.  

The Bayshore Community Centre will be closed from Friday, April 3 to Monday, April 6. If the Attack play Game 6 of their playoff series, the Bayshore will open Monday, April 6 for the game only.

The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce is open on Friday, April 3 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s open on Saturday, April 4 and Monday, April 6, with regular hours and it’s closed on Sunday, April 5.

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For non-emergencies, call 519-376-2512, and for emergencies, call 911. For information, visit the website.

By-law Enforcement:

Complaints or questions can be submitted online anytime. Regular By-Law hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7 at 8:30 a.m.
