Respect The Space

The River District is a place we all share,  a spot to shop, stroll, gather, explore, walk our dogs, and enjoy the beauty of downtown Owen Sound. Through the Respect The Space campaign, we’re encouraging and reminding everyone to do their part to help keep this area clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for all.

You may notice new cigarette butt bins, dog waste bag dispensers, public garbage cans (plus a few cheeky reminder signs) popping up around the District. These small additions are here to make it easier for everyone to dispose of waste responsibly and take pride in our shared spaces.

Most people already do the right thing, and we sincerely thank those residents, visitors, and pet owners who help care for our community every day. Keeping Owen Sound beautiful takes all of us. While City by-laws are in place and fines may be issued for littering or failing to clean up after pets, our goal is simple: to build a culture of respect, responsibility, and neighbourliness!

We all own a little piece of this space. Let’s take pride in it together.  Respect The Space.
