Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library Board
The Owen Sound Library's mission is to build generations of readers. The library also offers adult literacy services.
As appointed by the municipal councils, the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library Board is a separate, independent corporation with a legal duty to provide “a comprehensive and efficient public library service that reflects the community’s unique needs” [Public Libraries Act, R.S.O. 1990, Section 20(a)].
Through the combined efforts and support of three (3) municipalities (the Township of Chatsworth, the Township of Georgian Bluffs, and the City of Owen Sound), the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library is a full-service public library, available at a reasonable cost to more than 38,500 residents and taxpayers. The “Union Library Agreement” supported by local municipal councils and overseen by the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library Board is an amazing demonstration of municipalities working together to provide quality services for their ratepayers.
More information on the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library Board, including meeting dates and times, can be found on the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library's website.
