Human Resources Specialist - Labour Relations - Permanent Full Time Job# 2024-15 Closing Date: March 8, 2024

The City of Owen Sound is seeking qualified and dedicated applicants for the Human Resources Specialist – Labour Relations role. This position is responsible to provide Labour Relations expertise and advice to all levels of management at the City of Owen Sound and acts as the day-to-day liaison/partner between Human Resources and the rest of the organization for Labour Relations. Acting as the lead contact with unions, the role will include developing collaborative relationships with unions and acting as the City’s representative in collective bargaining, grievance processes, interpreting collective agreements, legislation, policies and providing guidance to managers/directors on performance management and disciplinary matters. The position will also lead workplace investigations, implement outcomes and lead the Job Evaluation process for the City.

Capital Asset & Risk Management - 12 to 18 month contract Job # 2024-11 Closing Date: February 29, 2024

The City of Owen Sound is seeking qualified and dedicated applicants for the 12 to 18-month contract role of Capital Asset & Risk Management Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Services, the Capital Asset and Risk Management Coordinator will develop and implement changes and updates to the City’s Asset Management Plan and Program, in accordance with legislation,  that provides direction to long range strategic capital planning.  The Capital Asset and Risk Management Coordinator will prepare and report on Tangible Capital Assets in accordance with PSAB 3150.  This position is also responsible for administration of the Corporate liability insurance agreement including annual renewal, necessary reporting and recommending risk management and mitigation strategies.

The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is seeking a Collection Assistant to support the Gallery’s Collections Team with all facets of managing and caring for a public art collection of national significance in the day-to-day operation of an active curatorial and outreach department within a busy regional art gallery. Water Distribution Operator - Permanent Full Time Job# 2024-12 Closing Date: Open Until Filled 

The City of Owen Sound is seeking motivated individuals to fill a Water Distribution Operator role.  The principal function of the position is to provide safe drinking water by proper operation and maintenance of the water distribution system. The City of Owen Sound is seeking energetic individuals to work as Tourism & Events Ambassadors.
Working closely with the staff in the Art Gallery, Culture & Tourism Division, the Tourism and Events Ambassador will represent the City at the Tourism Centre. The candidate will be required to assist visitors, provide information about events happening in our City, and support businesses by relaying pertinent information to visitors. The Tourism & Events Ambassadors will also assist with the execution of other Tourism related items including the sales of City merchandise. Seasonal Parks & Open Space Attendants Job #: 2024-07 Closing Date: Open until filled
 

The City of Owen Sound is seeking applicants for the role of Seasonal Parks & Open Space Attendants. Under the guidance of the Parks and Cemetery Supervisor, the Seasonal Parks and Open Space Attendant – Maintenance positions are responsible to perform duties related to the maintenance of all parks trails, Cemetery, downtown core, ball diamonds and other maintained open space throughout the City. Typical assignments include: cleaning washrooms and buildings, campground maintenance, providing customer service, turf maintenance, ball diamond preparation and grooming, horticulture support and other general maintenance duties as assigned. This position may work independently and as a team, so a strong work ethic and drive to complete tasks is an asset.
