August 28, 2026: Grey Bruce Public Health, in consultation with the City of Owen Sound, has posted the beach at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park in Owen Sound as unsafe for swimming after water-sampling results showed bacterial levels exceeding Ontario Ministry of Health standards.

Location: Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre
Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
Please remember the Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre is a Nut-Aware Facility. Please avoid bringing nuts or nut products into the building.
Ice Skating 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
& 2:15 - 3:30 p.m.
Ice Skating (both ice pads will be open and monitored)
Skating Rules are posted at the arena; however, they are also available HERE.
Open Swim 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Registration is not required.
The YMCA does have capacity limits for bather use.
Individuals wishing to swim may be required to wait several minutes until people leave the pool.
The regular aquatics policies remain in effect.
