Mid Week Music in Owen Sound is a free, outdoor live music series held on Wednesday afternoons/evenings throughout the summer — a relaxed way to enjoy local and regional performers at various public spots in the city. Musicians will perform on Wednesdays from 4:30-6 p.m. Audience members are welcome to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy free live music at various parks and green spaces in the City.

11 Live music events on Sundays throughout the summer, starting on June 14 and running until August 16, at the Marine and Rail Museum located at 1155 1st Ave West in Owen Sound. Sundays feature musicians from across Ontario as well as your favourite locals. Audience members bring their lawn chairs and enjoy 2 hours of free music with a food truck on site.

Canada Day in Owen Sound is a free, family‑friendly celebration held on July 1st at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park that brings the community together to honour Canada’s birthday with a full day of activities, entertainment and festivities.

Starting (gates open) at 10 a.m., the celebration features children’s activities, pony rides, dog shows throughout the day, big water canoe rides, games, music and entertainers, plus food trucks, marketplace vendors, and community booths for people of all ages to enjoy. In the evening, there’s usually a main stage concert with local performers and speakers, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display over the Owen Sound harbour around 10 p.m. to cap off the day.

It’s a festive, outdoor celebration that’s become a highlight of the summer in Owen Sound—perfect for families, friends and visitors to enjoy food, music, activities and community spirit while celebrating Canada’s national holiday.

• In-kind donations are different than donations. It is a product or service in lieu of cash and, in most cases, a much-needed and appreciated form of donation. As with any event, businesses wish to donate items needed for the event, such as fencing, media, printing, portable washrooms, light towers, food & beverages for entertainers and volunteers, children’s entertainment items and activities, tents, etc. Please let us know how you can help!

Doors Open Ontario is a province-wide heritage tourism program that gives the public free access to explore fascinating heritage properties across Ontario. It showcases 10-12 buildings, natural spaces, infrastructure, and cultural landscapes that shape and define our communities.

Doors Open Ontario began in 2002 as a means of connecting people to place by facilitating public access to compelling built and natural heritage sites that normally restrict regular access to the public, and to ensure that Ontario’s diverse heritage would be free to access by individuals and families of all socioeconomic backgrounds without barriers of cost.

The City has participated in Doors Open Ontario for several years and is planning to rejoin this celebration of community heritage on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
