Green Bin Delivery Has Started
Owen Sound's Green Bin program collection begins in June of 2025, and green bins have started to arrive at eligible households.
Bins are being delivered by a third party contractor to the bottom of your driveway.
You do not need to be present to get your bin. If you are away for an extended time, have a friend or neighbour set it aside for you.

In the event of a Canada Post strike, mail delivery to and from the City of Owen Sound will be disrupted. Residents are still responsible for paying tax and water bills on time. Interest and penalty charges will not be waived due to postal delays.

Please be advised that a Special County of Grey Joint All Councils meeting will be held with the County of Grey and all of its lower tier municipalities on August 8, 2024.
At approximately 1 p.m. today Owen Sound Fire Services responded to the area of Alpha Street for a report of a significant Natural Gas leak. Enbridge were on scene and requested Fire to attend to assist with an evacuation of houses in the area. Enbridge has estimated it will take approximately 2 hours to stop the free flow of Gas.
Grey County will begin sharing court security and prisoner transportation costs at the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice with the City of Owen Sound in 2025. Currently in Ontario, these court expenses are the sole responsibility of the local municipality.

Grey Bruce Public Health, in consultation with the City of Owen Sound, has lifted the swim advisory for Kelso Beach at Nawash Park.
The decision was made on Thursday, July 25, 2024, after water samples taken at the beach earlier this week showed bacterial levels had returned to within Ontario Ministry of Health guidelines for swimming/bathing.
