  • Registration Open for 2025 Home and Cottage Expo Vendors

    The 2025 Home and Cottage Expo will be held at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre and JD McArthur Arena on Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Business registration is now open for the Expo, which is a collaborative partnership between the City of Owen Sound, the Knights of Columbus, and the Grey Bruce Home Builders Association.

    Owen Sound City Council unanimously has approved the 2025 municipal levy (the amount of money raised through property taxes), ensuring continued investment in core services, infrastructure, and community priorities while maintaining responsible financial management.

    Reminder: Excess Snow Removal in the Downtown and River District Areas

    Excess snow removal operations will begin in Owen Sound’s downtown River District area tomorrow, Wednesday, February 5th, at 8 p.m.  The work is expected to be completed by early Thursday morning.

    In accordance with the Provincial Minimum Maintenance Standards, the City of Owen Sound is declaring an end to the Significant Weather Event that was issued on January 20, 2025.

    City Announces New Term for Public Committee Members 

    The City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce the beginning of a new term for its dedicated public members of committees. These individuals have been appointed to serve on various City committees, including the Corporate Services, Community Services, and Operations Standing Committees, and the Tom Thomson Art Gallery Advisory Committee.  

     

  • Significant Weather Event Remains Active

    The City of Owen Sound wishes to remind residents and visitors that the previously issued Significant Weather Event remains in place.  Subsequent snow squall weather patterns have caused delays in returning the City’s road and sidewalk infrastructure to an acceptable state.

  • Traffic Signal Disruption at 8th Avenue West and 10th Street West Intersection

    A collision has impacted the traffic lights at the intersection of 8th Avenue West and 10th Street West (beside the M&Ms plaza). It is estimated that it will take three days to repair the signals.

    Until the repairs are complete, the intersection has been converted to a four-way stop. Drivers are reminded to come to a complete stop and follow standard four-way stop procedures, yielding to vehicles that arrive first at the intersection.

  • Owen Sound Applauds Provincial Investment in Ontario Pumped Storage Project 

    The City of Owen Sound congratulates TC Energy on the recent announcement of provincial investment to advance the next phase of the Ontario Pumped Storage Project. On Friday, the Ontario government announced a $285 million investment in pre-development work for the proposed clean energy project to be constructed on unused land at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre located between Owen Sound and Meaford.
