Last Call for Vendors and Sponsors for Owen Sound’s Two-Day Canada Day Celebration Featuring Drone Show and Fireworks
Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Canada Day in Owen Sound with two full days of free family entertainment along the beautiful waterfront of Kelso Beach at Nawash Park on June 30 and July 1. Some limited sponsorship opportunities remain available until May 30 for businesses wishing to participate in one of the region’s largest summer celebrations. A limited number of marketplace vendor spaces are still available; however, Food Truck Alley registration is now full.
This year’s celebration will feature live entertainment, interactive family activities, more than 60 marketplace vendors, 15+ food trucks, an exciting Family Fun Zone, flying dog shows, pony rides, emergency vehicle displays, and much more.
Tuesday, June 30: The celebration kicks off at 1 p.m. with vendors, live entertainment, face painting, balloon creations, and family-friendly activities throughout the park with live music from The Mike McCarthy Band in the amphitheatre. The evening will conclude with Owen Sound’s first-ever Drone Show at 10 p.m., lighting up the sky over the ball diamond at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park. Please bring a lawn chair and join us!
Wednesday, July 1: Canada Day festivities continue beginning at 10 a.m. with a full day of live music, family-friendly activities, flying dog shows, pony rides, and interactive entertainment.
At 7 p.m., join the community for opening ceremonies followed by an evening of entertainment featuring The Rob Elder Trio and The Eh Team, performing Canadian classics. Hosted by Chris Scerri Presents, The Eh Team features some of the region’s top musical talent, including Drew Wright, Top 10 finalist from Season 3 of Canadian Idol; Tara and Trevor Mackenzie, Maple Blues Award winners for New Artist of the Year and nominees at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis; along with John Hume, Mike Weir, Ken Kelly, Jaret Koop, and Holly Sled.
