City of Owen Sound Launches Online Property Tax Calculator
The City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce the launch of our new online Property Tax Calculator, designed to help Owen Sound property owners quickly estimate their annual property taxes and take the guesswork out of where your municipal tax dollars are going.
The free, easy-to-use tool is now available on the City's website. Residents simply enter their property's assessed value to receive an instant tax estimate, complete with an easy-to-read pie chart showing how your municipal levy is allocated within the City’s annual budget.
The cost of this new tool is already included in the City’s website and does not add additional costs to our operating budget.
Property taxes in Owen Sound are determined by several factors: the assessed market value of the property, the tax class the property falls under, and the tax rates set annually by three levels of government — City Council, Grey County Council, and the Province of Ontario.
Property assessment values can be found on a Property Assessment Notice from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) or your City of Owen Sound final property tax bill.
The Property Tax Calculator is not an official record and is intended for estimation purposes only. For official tax information, residents should contact the City's Tax Department.
The Property Tax Calculator is available at OwenSound.ca/Calculator
