Definition of Terms
Governance and Admin: Council, Strategic Leadership Team, and program support such as insurance, human resources, information technology, health and safety, finance, procurement, service desk, tax billing and collection, and corporate facility management.
Safe City: Police and Fire services.
Development Support (City Building): community development, engineering, planning and building.
Environmental: garbage and recycling collection, compost site, household hazardous waste events, Green Bin collection, stormwater network, drains, and reservoirs.
Transportation: construction and repairs to roads and sidewalks, and public transit (conventional and mobility bus services).
Culture, Parks, and Recreation: arenas, parks, cemetery, River District, Tom Thomson Art Gallery, tourism and events.
Library: services and events.
City Wide Capital: capital projects.
**Water and wastewater are not included in the above because water distribution and wastewater treatment services are funded through user fees (your water bill); no tax dollars are collected to provide City water services.
