Temporary Closure of Intersection at 14th Street West and 2nd Avenue West

Grey County is improving the intersection of 14th Street West and 2nd Avenue West (Grey Road 1). Walker Construction, the County's contractor retained to complete this work, is planning closures on Wednesday, July 30, and Thursday, July 31, in the Grey Road 1 and 14th Street West area.

The closures are scheduled to facilitate the underground works needed to install new traffic and pedestrian signals at this intersection. 

The road closure details are as follows:

·         July 30 – full day closure (7 am to 7 pm) on 14th Street W from 1st Ave to 2nd Ave

·         July 31 – full day closure (7 am to 7 pm) on 14th Street W from 2nd Ave to 4th Ave

The road segments will be open at the end of the working day for any overnight traffic.

The closures will also impact transit routes, and changes are as follows:

·         July 30: The closure will impact the Brooke route. The Medical building and the Kwik Mart bus stop, both located in the 100 block of 14th Street West, will be out of service.

·         July 31: The closure will impact the Core route, including two bus stops, one in the 200 block of 14th Street West and one in the 300 block of 14th Street West.

Please allow for additional travel time and consider alternate routes where possible. To ensure the continued safety of all roadway users, all road users are reminded to remain alert and use caution when travelling through the area.
