Earth Day Celebration Road Closure on Saturday, April 26

Earth Day Grey Bruce is hosting a community Earth Day event on Saturday, April 26. To accommodate the festivities, the 800 block of 1st Avenue West will be fully closed to vehicular traffic from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. 

Pedestrian access to the businesses will be maintained throughout the closure per their regular operating hours. Parking is available in nearby Municipal parking lots as well as on-street (where permitted).

The Earth Day Grey Bruce community celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Event highlights include a water ceremony with Elder Shirley John, live youth music, a Green Economy Fair, climate presentations, hands-on family activities, and a community parade along the Sydenham River. The Tom Thomson Art Gallery will also feature student-led exhibits exploring sustainability and creativity.

To ensure the continued safety of all roadway users, all road users are encouraged to remain cautious and alert when travelling through the area.
