CBC Morning Live with Heather Hiscox Comes to Owen Sound! Public Invited to Attend Special Farewell Broadcast
The City of Owen Sound and CBC News are inviting the public to a special live broadcast of CBC Morning Live with Heather Hiscox on Tuesday, October 28, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. outside Owen Sound’s City Hall.
This event marks a heartfelt homecoming for Heather Hiscox, who is returning to the place where her journalism journey began. As part of her farewell retirement tour, Heather will reconnect with the community and the stories that shaped her career—while also looking ahead to a future of change and possibility.
Morning Live with Heather Hiscox is welcoming the community to come watch the outdoor broadcast alongside a special on-location edition of Bayshore Broadcasting’s 89.3 CFOS FM morning show. Audiences will hear from local voices, community leaders, and inspiring changemakers. The broadcast will also feature performances, including the Owen Sound District Secondary School Jazz Band.
The visit coincides with a historic moment in local radio this year, as CFOS has recently shut down its AM signal after 85 years, completing its transition to FM. Heather began her broadcasting career on that very AM frequency, making her return especially meaningful as the community bids farewell to the signal that started it all.
All are welcome! Bring a lawn chair, dress for the weather, and stay for the full four-hour show. This is more than a farewell, it’s a celebration of home, identity, and what comes next.
