As Labour Day weekend approaches, the City of Owen Sound is reminding residents about facility closures, adjusted hours, and service changes. The following is an overview of City services and facility's operating hours throughout Labour Day weekend 2026.

Bayshore Community Centre

·         Open regular hours Saturday, September 5, Sunday, September 6, and Monday, September 7

By-law Enforcement

·         By-law complaints can be submitted online 24/7.

·         Closed Monday, September 7.

·         Regular service hours resume Tuesday, September 8, at 8:30 a.m.

City Hall

·         Closed Monday, September 7.

·         Regular business hours resume Tuesday, September 8, at 8:30 a.m.

Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre

·         Open regular hours Saturday, September 5, Sunday, September 6, and Monday, September 7.

Leaf and Yard Waste Compost Site

·         Open regular hours daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library

·         Closed Sunday, September 6, and Monday, September 7.

·         Regular hours resume Tuesday, September 8, at 10 a.m.

Owen Sound Fire & Emergency Services
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parks and Open Spaces

·         All parks remain open throughout the weekend, including Monday, September 7.

·         Public washrooms at Harrison Park and Kelso Beach at Nawash Park will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

·         The Greenwood Cemetery Office (190 2nd Ave. East) will be closed Monday, September 7, and will reopen Tuesday, September 8, at 9 a.m.

Public Washrooms

·         Farmers Market Washroom open regular hours throughout the weekend as well as Monday, September 7.

·         East and West Boat Launch Washrooms open regular hours throughout the long weekend.

·         City Hall Washrooms will be closed Monday, September 7. City Hall Washrooms are always closed on weekends.

Public Works

·         Closed Monday, September 7.

·         Regular business hours resume Tuesday, September 8, at 7:30 a.m.

Tom Thomson Art Gallery and Tourism Services

·         Open Saturday, September 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

·         Closed Sunday, September 6, and Monday, September 7.

·         Tourism staff will be available at the Salmon Spectacular Tourism Booth, located in the tent at the Georgian Shores Marina, on Sunday, September 6, from noon to 4 p.m.

Transit

·         Owen Sound Transit (OST) and Mobility Transit do not operate on Sundays and will not operate on Monday, September 7.

·         Guelph Owen Sound Transit (GOST) will run its regular schedule throughout the weekend.

·         The Transit Terminal will be open Monday, September 7, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for washroom access and GOST ticket purchases.

Waste Services

·         The Transfer Station will be closed Monday, September 7.

·         There will be no waste collection on Monday, September 7, as outlined in the 2026 Waste Calendar.
