On July 1, opening ceremonies, anthem and live music begin in the amphitheatre at 7 p.m., with the Rob Elder Trio taking the stage as the opening act, followed by The EH Team. Hosted by Chris Scerri Presents, The EH Team features some of the region’s top musical talent, including Drew Wright, a Top 10 finalist from Season 3 of Canadian Idol; Tara and Trevor Mackenzie, Maple Blues Award winners for New Artist of the Year and nominees at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis; along with John Hume, Mike Weir, Ken Kelly, Jaret Koop, and Holly Sled. The celebrations will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over the Owen Sound Harbour at 10 p.m.
