Temporary Road Closures in River District for Cross-Street Banner Removal on July 28

Two blocks of 2nd Avenue East will be temporarily closed starting at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, to allow for the removal of cross-street banners in the River District.

The following areas will be affected:

·         700 block of 2nd Avenue East

·         1000 block of 2nd Avenue East

The closures are expected to last until 8:00 a.m.

Avenue blocks will be closed individually while staff are removing the banners, and opened as the work is completed.  Intersections and east-to-west streets will remain open.

Businesses will remain accessible during their regular business hours throughout the closure periods. Municipal lots 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 are available as alternate parking options, as is on-street parking (where permitted) nearby. 

Please allow for additional travel time and consider alternate routes of travel where possible. All road users are reminded to remain alert and use caution when travelling through the area to ensure the continued safety of all roadway users.
