Sign Up for Creative PD Day Adventures at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery this June
The Tom Thomson Art Gallery (TOM) is excited to offer two full-day PD Day camps on Friday, June 5 and Friday June 26, 2026. Designed for kids 8-12 years old, these interactive programs take place at the TOM from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each day is $60 (HST exempt) per student.
The PD Day adventures will offer an introduction to creativity and exploration similar to the popular Camp TOM summer programs. Combining hands-on art with outdoor activities, participants will have an exciting way to stay engaged and learning while off from school.
Registration is available online at OwenSound.ca/PDDays. Registration can also be completed by emailing hmcleese@tomthomson.org or calling 519.376.1932 to reserve your child’s spot.
PD Day Overviews
Friday, June 5, 2026 – Growing Ideas: Nature, Art & Inspiration
Participants will explore gardens and seasonal plants, sketch native species and pollinators, and create mixed media and painting projects. Inspired by contemporary exhibitions and local artists such as Liz Zetlin, participants will explore connections between art, community, and the natural world, creating work that celebrates growth, creativity, and interconnectedness.
Friday, June 26, 2026 - Paint Like TOM & Play with Clay
Participants will paint outdoors in the style of Tom Thomson, capturing landscapes and natural scenes. They will transform their ideas into 3D creations using clay and sculpture techniques. This camp encourages experimentation, taking artistic risks, and creating works that reflect each child’s perspective and imagination.
