Community is Invited to Help Shape the Future of Play at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park

The City of Owen Sound is inviting residents and visitors to help reimagine one of the community’s most loved waterfront spaces with the Kelso Beach at Nawash Park Playground Replacement and Splash Pad Revitalization project.

This project will replace the playground and renew key splash pad features to support accessible, inclusive play for people of all ages and abilities. These improvements will enhance opportunities for movement, discovery, and connection in a setting that celebrates both the park and the surrounding community.

Community input is a key part of the design process. Residents are encouraged to share their feedback on the proposed playground and splash pad concepts through an online survey open now until May 27th.  Additionally, residents are welcome to attend an in-person open house at City Hall on Wed. May 20 from 4 - 5:30 p.m. to provide input or ask questions. Feedback will help ensure the final design reflects how the community uses and values this unique waterfront park.

The City is proud to be partnering with the Scenic City Order of Good Cheer on this project. Together, the City and the Order are investing in a shared vision for a vibrant public space that reflects community values and supports inclusive outdoor recreation. Croziers has been contracted to undertake the design of the playground and splash pad enhancements.
