City & River District Board of Management Encourage Public Input on the River District Action Plan

The City of Owen Sound and the River District Board of Management are inviting residents, visitors, and River District stakeholders to share their feedback to help shape the future of the area through input on the River District Action Plan.

Originally developed in 2020 as a joint initiative of the River District Board of Management and City of Owen Sound through extensive public and stakeholder engagement, the plan established a vision and strategy to strengthen the River District as Owen Sound’s economic and cultural centre.

The plan has objectives & actions under 4 pillars

·         River District Branding

·         River District Management

·         River District Experience Development

·         River District Promotion

Many of the original actions have been completed; however, the plan’s four key pillars remain relevant. The update focuses on reviewing the actions, identifying things that should continue, and developing new actions within the pillars to reflect current needs and opportunities. Your feedback is important and will help guide future initiatives and investments in the River District.

Participants are invited to complete the short survey on OurCity and share which tactics remain relevant while also sharing new ideas.

Feedback collected will help inform the updated River District Action Plan.

The survey is open now and will remain available until end of day Monday, October 12, 2026, at ourcity.owensound.ca. The City and River District Board of Management encourages everyone to take a few minutes to share their input and help shape the future of the River District.
