City of Owen Sound Encourages All Eligible Voters to Get Ready for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election  

The 2026 municipal and school board election in Owen Sound is fast-approaching. Eligible voters are encouraged to confirm they are on the Voters’ List to ensure they can vote for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors, and School Board Trustees. The voting period in Owen Sound will run from October 16 to 26, 2026.  
Residents can check, update, add or remove their information from the Voters’ List by visiting RegisterToVoteON.ca, a tool developed and maintained by Elections Ontario. 
At RegisterToVoteON.ca, future voters who are 16 or 17 can also add themselves to the Ontario Register of Future Voters, which will add their information to the Voters’ List automatically when they turn 18. 
The final day to use RegisterToVoteON.ca is August 12, 2026. After this date, individuals can still register or update their information in person at City Hall beginning September 1, with appropriate identification. 
The City of Owen Sound is committed to making voting accessible for everyone. Support is available for residents who may need assistance, including: 
  • Individuals newly eligible to vote 
  • Residents new to the community or living in new developments 
  • Tenants renting property in the City of Owen Sound  
  • Individuals who may not have a permanent address 
Electors who are unhoused during the voting period will be accommodated and can still register and vote at an Election Centre. Election Centres are designed to support voters throughout the process.  
At an Election Centre, you can: 
  • Ask questions about the election 
  • Register or update your voter information 
  • Receive voting assistance 
  • Vote independently 
Election Centres will be located at both City Hall and Heritage Place Mall between October 16-26, 2026.

  • October 16: 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. 
  • October 19–23: 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. 
  • October 26: 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. 
Heritage Place Mall 1350 16th Street East, Owen Sound 
  • October 17–18: 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. 
  • October 24–25: 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. 
  • October 26: 12:00 – 8:00 p.m.
