City Completing Tree Maintenance and Removal Work Resulting in Temporary Road and Parking Lot Closures
The City of Owen Sound advises residents of temporary road and parking lot closures next week to accommodate scheduled tree maintenance and removal work.
Temporary Road Closure
Date: Thursday, September 17, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: 26th Street West, from 3rd Avenue West to 5th Avenue West
The roadway will be temporarily closed while crews complete clearance and elevation pruning of trees overhanging 26th Street West. This work helps maintain safe sightlines and adequate clearance for vehicles and equipment.
Temporary Parking Lot Closure
Date: Friday, September 18, 2026
Time: 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Parking Lot 9, 747 1st Avenue East
Parking Lot 9 will be temporarily closed while crews remove a Manitoba Maple tree. The work is being completed as part of ongoing tree management and maintenance efforts.
Residents are asked to obey all posted signage, plan alternate routes or parking arrangements if necessary, and exercise caution around work zones.
The City thanks residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation while this important work is completed.
