City Celebrates Completion of Weaver’s Creek Trail & Boardwalk with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City of Owen Sound officially celebrated the completion of the new Weaver’s Creek Trail and Boardwalk on September 21, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Harrison Park, marking the reopening of a popular trail connection and the completion of a significant infrastructure improvement within one of the City's most treasured natural spaces.

The project has renewed a key section of trail through the Weaver’s Creek valley, improving safety, accessibility, and long-term durability for residents and visitors who enjoy the park’s natural beauty. The project replaced aging boardwalk and trail infrastructure with upgrades designed to better withstand the unique environmental conditions of the creek corridor.

The replacement was completed following a City-led construction project that began earlier this year. Engineering design was done by GSS Engineering, with construction by TDI Land Restoration. 

The new boardwalk supports safe access through the creek valley while helping to protect the surrounding natural environment. By investing in durable infrastructure today, the City is helping ensure the trail remains accessible for years to come. The project included the replacement of both upper and lower boardwalk sections and associated trail improvements.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to visit Harrison Park and enjoy the newly completed boardwalk as part of the City's extensive network of parks and trails.
