Check Your Mailbox for Your Voter Information Letter Beginning October 5

The City of Owen Sound is reminding eligible voters to watch their mailbox beginning Monday, October 5, for their Voter Information Letter (VIL) for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.

The Voter Information Letter contains the unique voting credentials and instructions needed to cast a ballot using the City's secure internet and telephone voting system. Eligible electors can vote from 10 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026.

What is a Voter Information Letter?

A Voter Information Letter is a personalized letter mailed to eligible electors that includes:

  • Voting instructions
  • Unique voter credentials
  • Election Centre information
  • List of candidates

Haven't Received Your Letter?

Residents who have not received their Voter Information Letter by Thursday, October 8 should not worry. Eligible voters can still cast a ballot.

If your letter has not arrived, or if your voter information needs to be updated, visit City Hall or an Election Centre for assistance. Election staff can confirm eligibility, update voter information, add eligible residents to the Voters' List, and provide voting credentials.

Not receiving a Voter Information Letter does not mean you cannot vote.

Eligible electors can be added to the Voters' List or update their information right up until voting closes on October 26. Election staff are available to help ensure every eligible voter can participate in the election.
