Your Ideas Wanted: How Should the City of Owen Sound Communicate With You?

Fostering mutually beneficial and respectful relationships is a core strategic priority for the City of Owen Sound — and that starts with learning and communication.

As presented at the Corporate Services Committee on October 9th, the City is developing its first External Communications Strategy to ensure residents receive clear, consistent, and timely information and know where and how to ask questions of City staff or Council. A strategic, coordinated approach makes it easier for residents to stay informed, ask questions, and build trust with their local government.

To help shape the plan, the City has launched an online survey to hear directly from residents about how they want to receive City updates — and how the City can better hear from them.

Residents can share their input through a short online survey at OurCity.OwenSound.ca until November 12. Paper copies are also available at City Hall (or by request) for those who prefer offline options.

Feedback gathered through the survey will help inform the development of the City’s External Communications Strategy, which will be presented to City Council in early 2026.
