Weather Impact: Snow Removal, Clearing Updates and GOST Transit Morning Runs Cancelled
The City of Owen Sound would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience as crews continue clean-up efforts across the city.
Due to the scope of work required, crews spent additional time completing downtown clean-up operations overnight on Wednesday, January 14. As a result, there are some delays in road and sidewalk maintenance in other areas of the city early this morning.
As a community located in the snow belt, Owen Sound can experience significant and fast-changing winter weather. Snowfall amounts and weather conditions can impact the timing and duration of maintenance operations. City crews are actively out this morning and will continue throughout the day addressing priority routes, sidewalks, and pedestrian areas as conditions allow.
Work will continue until all areas are restored to safe and accessible conditions. The City appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation as crews work efficiently and safely in challenging winter conditions. Residents are reminded to use caution around active work zones and to allow extra time for travel where maintenance is underway.
Additionally, morning GOST buses have been cancelled due to the weather. For the most up-to-date information, people can check OwenSound.ca/Transit or for GOST service, call Voyago directly at 519-465-0783.
Further updates will be shared as needed.
