Set Sail for Adventure, Movies and Music this Weekend!
The first free Owen Sound Outdoor Movie Night of the season takes place at the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre on Friday, July 25, featuring Disney’s 2025 live-action Snow White, directed by Marc Webb. The movie reimagines the classic tale with a modern, empowered heroine, featuring vibrant musical numbers and a fresh narrative twist. Movie night is free, and the site opens at 7 p.m. with activities and treats for kids, with the movie starting at dusk.
While at Outdoor Movie Night on Friday, you may notice an exciting visitor docked along the west harbour wall from July 25-28, the majestic TS Playfair Tall Ship! This impressive 80-foot brigantine, operated by Brigs Youth Sail Training, brings maritime history to life with its traditional rigging and classic design.
Free public deck tours will be offered on Sunday, July 27, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. near the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre (1155 1st Ave W). Step aboard this storied vessel, built in 1973, and explore the world of youth sail training—where teamwork, adventure, and life at sea come together.
Don't miss your chance to see the iconic Tall Ship up close before it sets sail again! The Playfair departs at 1 p.m. on July 28, as new student crew members come aboard and begin their training dockside.
The Community Waterfront Heritage Centre (CWHC) will be open all weekend; a charming museum nestled in the historic 1932 CN Rail Station right on the scenic harbourfront (1155 1st Ave W) and host to this weekend’s events. It's the last of its kind in Ontario, offering a unique glimpse into the region’s marine, rail, and industrial past.
Stick around Sunday evening for TD Harbour Nights at 7 p.m., featuring a high-energy performance by The O’Deadlys, a dynamic 3-piece Celtic and traditional band guaranteed to get your toes tapping.
History, music, movies and maritime adventure—all in one unforgettable weekend in Owen Sound!
