Owen Sound Seeks Public Feedback on Playground Replacements at Owen Heights and Comm-R-Ette Parks

The City of Owen Sound is inviting community members to help shape the future of two local neighbourhood playgrounds through upcoming open houses and an online survey.

As part of its commitment to maintaining and enhancing public spaces, the City will be replacing playground equipment at Owen Heights Park and Comm-R-Ette Park. To ensure the updated playgrounds meet the needs and expectations of residents, the City is seeking public input on their design and features.

Residents are encouraged to attend the following in-person events to share their feedback and ideas:

  • Tuesday, May 20 | 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Owen Heights Park, 742 5th St E

  • Thursday, May 22 | 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Comm-R-Ette Park, 505 2nd St 'A' W

Those unable to attend in person can participate by completing a brief survey online at OurCity.OwenSound.ca/Playgrounds.

Playgrounds play a vital role in fostering physical activity, social interaction, creativity, and community connection. These new playgrounds are intended to serve not only as places for children to play, but as welcoming gathering spaces for families and neighbours alike.

The City encourages all residents to get involved and help create inclusive, engaging, and community-focused play spaces for current and future generations.
