Nominations Now Open for the 2026 Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame

The Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for 2026 inductions. This is an opportunity to recognize outstanding local athletes, teams, and sports community builders who have contributed to Owen Sound’s rich sporting history.

A new online nomination form has been introduced to make submissions as simple as possible, though paper forms are still available through the City’s website or upon request. All nominations must be submitted by December 31, 2025.

Nominees can be considered in the following categories:

  • Individual athletes
  • Teams
  • Sports community builders

All induction criteria and a list of past inductees can be found at OwenSound.ca/SportsHallofFame.

Originally formed in 1981 by the Ramoca Shrine Club and the Knights of Columbus, the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame celebrates individuals who have participated in local sports, either as competitors or as builders of the community. In 1984, the City Parks and Recreation Committee endorsed the continuation of the Hall, and in 2004, it underwent a major renovation at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Inductions are held every two years to honour new members.
