Miller Waste Systems Sponsors Family Swimming at Harrison Park

Miller Waste Systems has once again made a generous donation to help operate the Harrison Park Pool this summer. The $3,500 donation will provide free family swimming on Thursdays (4:30 – 6:30 p.m.) and Sundays (11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) from June through September.

Mr. Joe Johnson, President, and Mr. Matt Roe, District Manager of Miller Waste Systems visited Owen Sound and the Harrison Park Pool to join Mayor Ian Boddy, Director of Community Services Pam Coulter, and Manager of Parks & Open Space Eckhard Pastrik for the cheque presentation on April 10. This is the ninth consecutive summer that Miller Waste has sponsored Free Family Swims at the Harrison Park Pool.

The Harrison Park Pool underwent major renovations in 2018 to increase accessibility and enhance the experience for residents and visitors, including an accessible ramp and railing, accessible seating on the new concrete deck, and the addition of a new fully accessible family changeroom.

Additional details regarding the Harrison Park Pool schedule is on the City’s website.

For more information, please contact Pam Coulter, Director of Community Services at 519-376-4440 ext. 1252 or email pcoulter@owensound.ca
