Lane Reductions on Eddie Sargent Parkway During Summerfolk Festival to Support Event Access
From the afternoon of Thursday, August 14th, through end of day Monday, August 18, traffic lanes will be reduced on both sides of the road north of the bridge on the Eddie Sargent Parkway to accommodate The Georgian Bay Folk Society’s 50th Summerfolk Music & Craft Festival.
Delays should be expected; please allow for additional travel time and consider an alternate route of travel where possible.
Motorists are also reminded of the construction currently underway at the intersection of 14th Street West and 2nd Avenue West.
This construction will not conflict with the curb lane closures planned for Summerfolk, however it may result in further congestion of the area. Motorists are advised to consider alternate routes through the area if not attending Summerfolk.
Motorists are encouraged to remain cautious and alert when travelling through the lane-restricted area to ensure the continued safety of all road users. There will be a higher than usual number of pedestrians in the area and motorists are advised to be cautious and alert if driving in this area.
The City of Owen Sound is dedicated to providing information to ensure that residents of affected areas are well-informed about interruptions. For more information, please contact Lara Widdifield, Director of Public Works and Engineering at 519-376-4440 ext. 1201 or email to lwiddifield@owensound.ca.
