Harrison Park Entrance Road (1st Street East) and Freedom Trail Closed April 22 for Urgent Ash Tree Removals

The Harrison Park Entrance Road (1st Street East) and the Freedom Trail will be closed at the Park entrance pillars on Monday April 22, 2024 at 5:30 a.m. for urgent ash tree removals.  All trees being removed are infected by the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The road and trail will re-open at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Access to the small parking lot from 1st Street East is available but pedestrian access along the Freedom Trail will be closed from the parking lot to the Rainbow Bridge. Pedestrian access to the Park will be available through the Fitness Trail at 4th Street East.

Members of the public are asked to stay clear of tree work sites for their safety and the safety of tree workers.

Residents who are concerned about the condition of a tree on City property are asked to use the City’s Report a Concern form to request an inspection. Upon receipt of a form, the City will inspect and follow up with the inspection results within 15 business days.
