Fall Operating Hours for Owen Sound Leaf and Yard Waste Site

To better align with shorter daylight hours at this time of year, Owen Sound’s Leaf and Yard Waste site will close daily at 5 p.m. starting on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.  Updated hours for the site through the fall are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m, daily. 

The site continues to be open for use only by residents of the City of Owen Sound, the Municipality of Meaford, and the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Proof of residency may be required. 

A list of accepted items is available at OwenSound.ca/Compost.   

Dumping of any materials at the closed gate is monitored and prohibited.  

The City of Owen Sound does not collect leaf and yard waste at the curb (even if it has a bag tag). It must be brought to the Leaf and Yard Waste facility,  located at 2450 28th Avenue East.
