Expressions of Interest for the Temporary Use of the “Rice House”
The City of Owen Sound is seeking Expressions of Interest from eligible organizations interested in the temporary use of a municipally owned residential property known as the “Rice House,” located at 846 1st Avenue West, Owen Sound.
The property includes four apartment units and is slated for demolition in the coming years. The demolition will support the future needs of the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, and its use is yet to be determined.
This Request for Expression of Interest (RFEOI) gauges interest and informs the development of an invitational second-stage Request for Proposal.
Proponents must fall into one of the following categories:
- Non-profit organizations geared toward providing housing;
- Public sector entities governed under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Education Act, or other related Ontario legislation;
- Government bodies, including Grey County; or
- Accredited post-secondary institutions (including Georgian College)
