City Seeking Community Sponsors for Free Wednesday Evening Swims at Harrison Park Pool

As the City of Owen Sound prepares for another exciting summer at Harrison Park Pool, local businesses and community organizations are invited to sponsor Wednesday evening swims. Their support helps keep the pool a welcoming and affordable place where residents and visitors of all ages can cool off, connect, and enjoy the season together.

Thanks to the generous support of community sponsors, Wednesday evening free swims (4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) have become a popular weekly tradition. The City is now seeking individual night sponsors to continue this offering throughout the 2025 summer season (July 2 to August 27). Interested sponsors can fill out a simple sponsorship form available on the City’s website at OwenSound.ca/PublicSwimming.

While the pool officially opens for the season in mid-June, planning is already underway to ensure a fun and accessible summer for all residents and visitors. Free summer swims are offered on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., thanks to the generosity of Major Sponsor Miller Waste Systems. 

The Harrison Park Pool is heated, fully accessible, and professionally staffed with certified lifeguards. The YMCA coordinates swimming lessons and private rentals and can be contacted at 519-376-0484 ext. 226 or aquatics@osgb.ymca.ca.  Full pool fees and swim pass rate information can be viewed on the YMCA’s website.
