Celebrate Canada Day in Owen Sound on July 1!
Owen Sound will celebrate Canada Day on July 1 at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park with gates opening at 10 a.m. This FREE family event features entertainers, live music, over 60 marketplace vendors, 15+ food trucks, an interactive Bricks & Blocks Lego Family Fun Zone, flying dog shows, pony rides, Big Canoe tours on the water, interactive games and activities, emergency vehicles, and more!
The evening ceremonies start at 7 p.m. in the Amphitheatre at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park with musician opener Gracie Jet, speeches from local dignitaries, and The Rock of Fame concert, a “Tribute to Canadian Music”. The Rock of Fame Concert hosted by The City of Owen Sound and Chris Scerri Presents comprises some of the area’s most talented musicians including Drew Wright, top 10 winner from season 3 of Canadian Idol; Tara and Trevor Mackenzie, winners of the Maple Blues Award for New Artist of the Year and nominees of The International Blues Challenge in Memphis; Jon Zaslow; John Hume; Drew McIvor; Mike Weir; Jaret Koop; and Holly Sled. The evening will conclude with spectacular fireworks over the Owen Sound Harbour at 10 p.m.

- Canada Day takes place Tuesday, July 1 and the event is free to attend.
- Canadians across the country and around the world show their pride in their history, culture and achievements. It's been a day of celebration since 1868, when many festivities are held across the nation.
- Spectators on land and in boats must remain a minimum of 175 metres clear of the pier in the Owen Sound Harbour during the fireworks display.
- Kelso Beach at Nawash Park is a designated smoke-free and vape-free site.
- The event is rain or shine; however, water activities are weather-dependent and may be cancelled if inclement weather occurs.
