The City of Owen Sound is excited to announce Guelph Owen Sound Transportation, (‘GOST’) transit service will begin operations on Monday, August 31, 2020 after being postponed in March due to COVID-19.

GOST transit service will provide service between Owen Sound and Guelph. The service will operate seven days a week including all holidays with the exception of Christmas Day. The GOST transit service route will start from the Owen Sound Transit Terminal and stop at Chatsworth, Williamsford, Durham, Mount Forest, Arthur, Fergus and Elora before arriving at the final destination of Central Station in Guelph. The service will be provided by Voyago, who will use a brand new, fully accessible 20+2 passenger bus.

The GOST transit service will offer two round-trips daily. The first in the morning, departing the Owen Sound Transit Terminal at 7:30 AM and the second in the afternoon, departing the Owen Sound Transit Terminal at 1:30 PM. Each trip will have a capacity of 10 passengers due to COVID-19.

Voyago will also implement additional measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the bus at the end of the day, as well as wiping down high touch areas with disinfectant at the end of every run. The bus will also be equipped with a barrier separating the driver from the passengers to maintain physical distancing.

Users of the transit service are required to wear a mask or face covering that covers the mouth and nose while on the bus to comply with local Public Health Unit orders. Exceptions for those visiting the City of Guelph apply as per orders under the Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health Unit.

Fares are based on where passengers are travelling to and from with the minimum being $5.00 and a maximum being $20.00 from Owen Sound to Guelph. Please check our website for a detailed list of reduced prices for stops between other destinations along the route. Exact cash payable to the bus driver will be required.
