Friday, July 7 - Rob Elder |
![]() Eventually, Rob moved to Toronto where he gigged every weekend and hosted an open mic for two and a half years. All that playing and networking exposed him to a world of musicians and sounds well beyond his parents record collection. Those influences fused into a style that playfully mixes blue-eyed soul, slick guitar, and crooning country rhythms and serves them with a voice that surfs from solid depths to groovy falsetto highs. By his mid-twenties, Rob was chasing the Canadian dream. He got married, had two kids, and was advancing in a straight-laced career while gigging tirelessly in Toronto. There wasn’t much time for recording back then and Rob and his wife knew that they didn’t want to raise children in the city. So in 2012 they moved back to Grey County where a vibrant musical community welcomed them wholeheartedly. Rob put together a band, started mentoring younger musicians through the Georgian Bay Folk Society, and – as always – filled every available moment with music. Now with the release of 'Changer' 12 years after his sophomore record, Rob self-identifies as a re-emerging artist. But make no mistake, his musical growth has never faltered and his roots have only dug deeper in the intervening years. 2018’s 'Changer' shows off how much Rob has grown and what he’s learned along the way. Where his first two albums ploughed popular themes of young love and heartbreak, Changer explores more mature themes of social unrest and inequality, solidarity, and the deep love that carries a relationship decades on. Don’t think that serious themes make the music less fun, though. With thoughtful lyrics and catchy melodies, Changer proves that Rob Elder still knows how to get audiences dancing – whether or not there’s a dance floor. Connect with Rob |

Friday, July 14 - Realm Walkers @ 12 PM |
The Realm Walkers are a band from Owen Sound ON, established in 2019, comprised of principal songwriters Tyler Wagler (Guitar, Bass, Keys), Tara MhicCoinnigh (voice/ percussion) and joined by Corrie Martindill (percussion/voice), and Trevor MacKenzie (atmospheric guitar/ableton). They are dedicated to performing songs about the metaphysical human and our travels in this and other modes of consciousness. From forest temples, to underwater realms, drawing on plant medicine and old traditions, Tara and Tyler weave nostalgic, dreamy and thought provoking themes. They take you out of time and space while still delivering just the tonic for the modern soul. Tara’s wish for the audiences she sings for is to present soundscapes and lyrics that provoke visceral feelings about humanity and our responsibilities to nature. Tara modernizes elements of ancient stories learned from her gealic background and spiritual practice of bardic druidry. She adds energy from her roots in the traditional Irish sean nós singing style and celtic keening to a modern sound palette. The Realm Walkers draw the listener into a heart of compassion with the hope of inspiring other humans to consider the value of embodying the unique wisdom traditions of our planet and to live fuller lives. |

Thursday, August 3 - Adam Cousins @ 5 PM |
![]() Born and raised in the tight-knit town of Brussels, Ontario, Adam Cousins knows a thing or two about small town living and country music dreaming. Years of love for music and performing drove Adam to pursue his passion in the music industry. Today, he’s an exciting new Canadian country talent, whose emergence in the industry reflects his earnest “work hard, play hard” approach to life and music. Drawn to the timeless storytelling and classic sound of the country genre, Adam took his first steps in music by playing local shows around Brussels before expanding his horizons in London, Ontario. The result was Adam’s debut 2019 EP, “Dirt Road”, produced at EMAC Recording Studios by Matt Grady and Nick Fetchison, which brought his original music to digital streaming platforms for the first time and introduced him to Canadian country radio. Outside of the studio, Adam has been performing anywhere he can get his hands on a microphone – giving fans a front-row seat at festivals, fairs, and jams and winning them over through a seamless mix of classics and original songs and seeing his ability to take simple small-town moments and make them feel larger than life. In 2021, Adam connected with noted producer Shawn Moore to create a listening experience that could feel equal parts familiar and fresh. singles, “Riding the Waves”, and “Young Again” – the latter of which became his first release to be added for spins on CBC Country on Sirius XM. With 2022 off to a great start - Adam has won Forest City London Music Awards for "Country Artist of the Year" and "Music Video of the Year" for his single "Young Again". He also has been making waves with his new single "Our Lives" which cracked the Top 40 on CBC Sirius XM. Not far behind, Cousins will be releasing 2 brand new singles this year with more great music to come! This small-town country boy continues to make good on his promise to make his lifelong country music dreams come true. Connect with Adam Cousins |
Friday, August 4 - Millpond Project @ 12 PM |
The concept of a “project” rather than a band was that the group of musicians could provide music ranging anywhere from individual solo performers to duets of various combinations to the core trio dance band to larger more complex groups and collaborations with other musicians. The core band is comprised of Pete Miller (bass, vocals), Lloyd Mohr (rhythm guitar, vocals), and Gerard Willmes (drums, vocals). More recently (2022), Jeff Freeman has joined the band on a regular basis on lead guitar. The band performs shows regularly in Grey and Bruce Counties, including Canada Day Celebrations in Annan, and New Years Eve parties historically at Massie Hall and more recently at the Chatsworth Legion. They have performed in back yards for personal special events like birthdays and anniversaries and at local vineyards for private organization parties. They’ve played on hay wagons at local Fall Fairs and at formal weddings, providing both ceremonial music and dance music later. ![]() Their repertoire includes classic rock and pop music, folk rock, blues, and even a bit of country. They consider themselves not just musicians but also entertainers, coming complete with their own stage lighting and pro audio systems if necessary. Each MillPond Project performance is unique, with various set lists and songs tailored to the clients needs! Above all, the band enjoys their performances and tries its best to ensure the audience enjoys themselves as much as they do. Connect with MillPond Project 519-376-5599 |
Thursday, August 10 - Amber May @ 5 PM |

Friday, August 18 - Onion Honey @ 12 PM |
Onion Honey may hail from Ontario’s tech capital, but they make foot-stomping, toe-tapping, hoedown-ing folk music like an old-fashioned string band. Dave Pike, Esther Wheaton, Leanne Swantko, and Kayleigh LeBlanc play traditional tunes made new and original songs that sound old; like their name, Onion Honey’s music is sweet and sharp and savoury, a remedy for many ills, and a recipe for a good time. Influenced by bands like Uncle Earl, Old Crow Medicine Show, and the Foghorn Stringband, the Kitchener-based outfit brings a uniquely-Southwestern-Ontario flavour to their music. Onion Honey has been heard on radio stations across Canada and featured in Jan Hall’s Sunparlour Sessions; their last two albums, Raisin’ Heck and Earthly Trials, charted on national campus radio in 2017 and 2019. They gig regularly around Southwestern Ontario and have performed at a number of festivals including Banjofest in Guelph, Cambridge’s Mill Race Folk Festival, Winterfolk in Toronto, Hamilton's Festival of Friends, and more. Their new album, Foul Weather Friends, is out in Spring, 2023. Connect with Onion Honey |

Ryan Knight ![]() I'm a musician local to Owen Sound and have been working to revive my musical performance practice over the past few years. I was inspired to build my current repertoire by a successful audition to play at The Couple's Resort in Whitney Ontario, just east of Algonquin Park. I play acoustic covers that I rearrange to suit my style and have recently added some country and Americana music to my classic rock, singer/songwriter, and Canadian content covers. I am currently working on composing some original music and hope to have a performance ready song soon. I'm very excited to be playing here in Owen Sound for a local audience.
