Financial Reports

The annual financial statements provide information to the public and council on the financial position and activities of the City. The statements are reviewed and audited by an accounting firm that is independent of the City's own staff.

Performance Measures/Financial Information Returns

The City is required to measure and report its performance in core service areas annually through the Ministry of Municipal Affairs Financial Information Return each year. This report includes statistical information in a number of areas such as:

BMA Municipal Study

A consulting group (BMA Consulting) provides a useful tool for comparing how our city fares against other similar municipalities annually. These reports provide a comparison of key financial indicators to help evaluate each municipality's existing financial condition and can help identify areas of future challenge and opportunities for improvement.

Corporate Services Committee

The Corporate Services Committee's role is to obtain public input and provide advice and recommendations to Council on matters that relate to the committee's mandate and responsibilities, and to assist Council in achieving the City's vision, goals and objectives.

The Committee makes recommendations to Council on the policies, programs and services delivered by the Corporate Services Department and the Fire Department, including but not limited to matters related to:
