One More Week to Apply to Serve on City Committees

There is one more week to apply to serve on a City of Owen Sound Committee. There are many vacancies to fill, and all applications will be considered. Being on a City Committee provides members of the public with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, meet new people, and be part of the decision-making process.  

The City of Owen Sound considers volunteers to be one of its most valued community resources. City Council invites persons wishing to serve as a member on a committee to submit an application to the Deputy Clerk. Application forms are due Friday, November 17 and are available on the City’s website at or at the Service Owen Sound counter in City Hall.

Community Services Committee 

Feb. 1, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2027 

Corporate Services Committee 

Feb. 1, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2027 

Operations Committee 

Feb. 1, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2027 

Tom Thomson Art Gallery Advisory Committee 

Feb. 1, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2027 

Council Remuneration Review Task Force 

Feb. 1, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2026

Quick Facts: 

  • Applications are being accepted until Friday, November 17. 
  • Appointments begin February 1, 2024, and are typically a three-year term. 
  • Some committees meet during business hours and some meet after business hours. 
  • Committees gather public input and give advice to Council based on each committee’s mandate.
