City Hall Renovation Project Started
The City Hall renovation project has started. Fencing will be erected around the construction zone and building (at 808 2nd Avenue East) starting Friday, March 24.
During the construction period, fencing is required to store materials, equipment, and to create a construction zone that ensures public safety. While this fencing will result in some lost parking spots in the Farmers’ Market parking lot (Lot #1), there remain a number of other lots in the downtown offering public parking. The locations of the other lots are shown below. ‘P’ passes allow for parking in any lot. Parking around the Farmers’ Market deck will still be available and the Market itself will remain on its regular schedule.
As previously announced, as a result of this construction the City Hall public washrooms are now closed. However, public washrooms are still available in the downtown core at the Farmers’ Market and the bus terminal.
