Media Advisory - 8th Street East (800 Block) Closed for Road Rehabilitation - EDIT: Deferred to Spring
UPDATE ON NOVEMBER 21, 2022 - Please note that due to recent weather and current site conditions, it has been decided that the 8th Street East rehabilitation work will be deferred to the spring.
8th Street East will be closed to through traffic from 8th Avenue East to 9th Avenue East between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, beginning Monday, November 21, until Friday, November 25, 2022. Normal traffic will resume nightly, but the City urges extra caution as the area will remain an active construction site.
It is suggested to use 10th Street East or 6th Street East as an alternate route during daytime hours to avoid the closure.
Inclement weather conditions may impact daily closure operations.
This closure is to facilitate the completion of the City of Owen Sound 2022 Asphalt Rehabilitation Program. Work taking place will consist of milling operations, infrastructure and concrete repairs, with asphalt paving and line markings to follow.
