Spash PadKelso Beach Park is a 9 hectare oasis on Georgian Bay, at the mouth of the Pottawatami River in Owen Sound.

Recreational facilities include:

  • waterfront access
  • paved, multi-use trails.

It is accessible by car via the Eddie Sargent Parkway (with parking on site), or by foot or bicycle via the Harbourfront Walkway. The park offers views of the eastern shore of the harbour, and is lined with willow trees in many areas.

Take a Hike!

Owen Sound offers an extensive range of trails, from the challenging Bruce Trail along the Niagara Escarpment to short, stroller-friendly paths in Harrison Park, along the harbour, and elsewhere. Find details at https://www.owensound.ca/trails. Trails are not maintained in winter but Harrison Park remains popular for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Cycling is permitted on all trails except the Bruce Trail.

Owen Sound Salmon Tour – Seasonal (mid-September to mid-October)

View the fall migration of the mighty Chinook Salmon from the Owen Sound Harbour to the Mill Dam and Fish Ladder, through to Harrison Park and beyond! This is a fun, education tour for all ages that you can hike, cycle, paddle or drive. Kids are sure to enjoy watching the salmon scale the fish ladder, and a trip to the fish spawning channels behind the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority Administration Centre on Inglis Falls Road is never disappointing. The fish migration is weather dependent, but usually hits its peak mid-September to mid-October. www.greatsalmontour.com

  • Located beside the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre and Owen Sound & Area YMCA)
  • Helmuts mandatory. Skateboarders not wearing helmets may be fined.
