Morgan Davis

Veteran blues performer Morgan Davis has been on the road travelling across Canada, the United States and Europe for over four decades. His performances draw from a rich tradition of country blues, as well as his own contemporary songs infused with wit and a large dose of humour.

Originally from Detroit, Davis grew up listening to a prolific mix of rhythm and blues. He cut his teeth in Toronto's music scene in the 1970s, where he had the opportunity to see and play with many legendary performers. He toured with several bands including David Wilcox's first band, eventually forming his own trio.

Over the years he has had the privilege of opening for Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, John Hammond, Albert Collins, and Eric Bibb. Morgan has shared the stage with Colin Linden, who also produced his second album,James Harmon, Gene Taylor, Sue Foley, Ray Bonneville, Carlos DelJunco, Dr. John, and the late Dutch Mason. Davis' songwriting talent received international recognition when Colin James covered his searing ballad "Why'd You Lie". His recordings have won multiple Maple Blues Awards and in 2004 he received the JUNO for Blues Album of the Year.

Morgan's passion for the Blues has never wavered... and he fully expects to be on the road for the rest of his life. We're thrilled to welcome him back to Owen Sound for his second TD Harbour Nights appearance.

The Marigolds - Caitlin Hanford, Gwen Swick & Suzie Vinnick

THE MARIGOLDS share a love of songwriting, and creating beautiful harmonies and great grooves. On their two CDs, "The Marigolds" (2005) and "That's the State I'm In" (2009), they have recorded a body of work in the style of classic North American roots music - traditional bluegrass and country, folk and blues. They are often accompanied by versatile drummer/percussionist Randall Coryell.

The Marigolds have performed in concert from coast to coast, at folk festivals and on radio and television. In 2010 the Marigolds were nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in the Vocal Group of the Year category. In 2011 the Marigolds were nominated for a Juno for "That's the State I'm In".

"Gwen Swick's smoky rich alto, Caitlin Hanford's high clear purity, and Suzie Vinnick's powerful-yet-sweet blues edge - three of Canada's best singer/songwriters in one great group. Loads of charisma, talent, versatility ... a very powerful performance, indeed." - Don Osburn, Artistic Director, Deep Roots Festival, Wolfville NS

The Soles

With hundreds of live shows under their belt, from East Coast to West, The Soles are steadily making a name for themselves. In 2008 the Soles released their first official full length record You Burst into Fire Again and after a decade of slugging it out, the band got its first break showcasing in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, shortly after that, they played their first big international show at the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle, USA. Since then, the band has been gaining traction with more notable bookings, including: Grace Hartman Amphitheatre in Sudbury (2013 & 2014) 0as well as their first festival headline spot at Music for the Masses festival, Thunder Bay.

In 2011, The Soles released their second effort the Broken Ghost EP with was played heavily on College radio stations across Canada and charted in the top-30 on many of them. The Soles released an experimental electronic rock EP, Anodos Kathodos in 2014, which generated radio play on satellite radio, the CBC and campus radio, across Canada. The Soles recently released their new LP Sand In The Sun. EXCLAIM magazine Toronto said, "Sand in the Sun [Lp], is strong melodically and instrumentally, if not lyrically. 'Sand in the Sun,' particularly, gives the listener a feeling one might have on the brink of something new and exciting. Hints at a bright future for the Soles."

The Soles are a great live band, the kind of group where people say “You have to see them live.”

Darrelle London

After a whirlwind few years of touring, writing, and gaining fans in influential places (such as Perez Hilton!), Darrelle London decided to turn to her community of fellow Canadian musicians to bring her newest album, Tangerine and Blue, to life. She chose acclaimed singer/songwriters Kevin Fox and Robyn Dell’Unto to produce the 10-track alt-pop record. Co-writers include some of her favourite Canadian artists, such as Justin Rutledge and Emma-Lee.

Darrelle’s story is one of following her heart over her head. With the smarts to get accepted to University of Toronto’s law school, she instead chose to take a chance on her music. Her fans have witnessed her grow and achieve some impressive milestones in her still-young career. Highlights include touring North America (she’s played Hollywood’s Troubadour Club and Nashville’s Bluebird Café), collaborating with Chantal Kreviazuk, being chosen by Sarah McLachlan to perform at Lilith Fair, and placing her music on the hit 90210 TV series. She has also developed a devoted following in South Korea, where her songs are featured in national ad campaigns and TV dramas.

London is a favourite in the Canadian and US college circuit, having performed at nearly fifty campuses across North America. She was recently nominated for “Female Performer of the Year” by Campus Activities Magazine.

Her new album paints a candid portrait of modern life as an artist, while exhibiting London’s trademark wit and relatable charm. She continues to grow her community of fans, who are her biggest source of inspiration.

For years, Steve Ritchie, Al Parrish and Rob Ritchie rocked the UK folk music scene as the rhythm section of the Canadian powerhouse band Tanglefoot (Best Vocal Group, 2007 Canadian Folk Music Awards).

Now the three best friends - along with percussionist/singer/songwriter Beaker Granger - are back on the road as RPR.

Fresh from a five-week May-June tour in the UK, RPR hits the TD Harbour Night stage this summer with songs, storytelling, humour and high-spirited stage presence that bubbles over with that same combination of aggressive enthusiasm and personality that made Tanglefoot famous, yet spread over a broader musical canvas.

Whether it's an original country song of Al's, Steve's recollection of a Robert Plant version of an old Dylan tune or Rob's incisive musical humour,  the trademark harmony, chemistry, enthusiasm and impact ...are all there!

"This superb band gave not just of their friendship, but blew us away totally. They are not 'very good', just stunning and brilliant." - Chris Simpson, Magna Carta

"They sing raucously and passionately with big stirring times with roaring vigour at others with sparse intensity, creating many moods...songs full of humour, pathos and love." - The Beat Magazine, March 2013.

"The world just got brighter for Tanglefoot fans..." - Sleepy Hollow Folk Club, Virginia
