Interpretive Plaque Program

Begun in 1998; to date more than 40 plaques have been placed around the City.

Interpretive Murals Program

The City has adopted a unique form of mural based on historic J. James photographic images of Owen Sound. In 2001 a mural was erected on the south wall of City Hall. Local stores have also placed J. James photos on their façades.

Interpretive Banners Program

A variety of banners have been installed on poles throughout the downtown and harbour areas. The latest and most successful are the Art Banners

Interpretive Walking Tours Program

A variety of Walking Tour brochures have been printed, including;

• Downtown Historic Tour ( includes maps and audio podcasts)
• Freedom Trail Walking/Biking Tour (Owen Sound Black History web site)
• Cemetery Walking Tour
• North Grey Driving Tour.
