The 2010 Municipal Election in the City of Owen Sound takes place on Monday, October 25, 2010. Polls open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.
Advance Votes are scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 20, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 8: p.m. Both Advance Votes will be held in the lower level meeting room at City Hall.
The hours for conventional and specialized transit service will be extended until 8:30 p.m. for the Municipal Election on Monday, October 25, 2010.
Voters List
Please check the Voters List to determine if you are on the list. The Voters List is available for viewing at the City Clerk's Office after September 1, 2010, at 808 2nd Avenue East, Room 203, City Hall, Owen Sound and at the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, 824 1st Avenue West, Owen Sound.
If you are not on the Voters List or the information on the list is incorrect, you may complete a Revision Form EL15 by attending the Clerk's Office prior to Election Day (October 25, 2010). Revisions will be taken commencing September 7, 2006. Revisions will also be taken at the Polls.
Voter Notification Cards will be mailed to all electors on the Voters List prior to Election Day. Although you are not required to bring this card with you to the Poll when voting, it will assist the Deputy Returning Officer in determining if you are at the correct Poll.

Nomination papers may be filed by candidates or an agent commencing on January 4, 2010 through September 9, 2010 during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Monday to Friday and on Nomination Day, Friday, September 10, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Nomination papers and other documentation required with a nomination are available from the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 808 2nd Avenue East, OWEN SOUND ON N4K 2H4. A candidates guide will be available in January 2010.
At the time of filing, each candidate must pay the prescribed nomination fee ($200 for the office of Mayor and $100 for all other offices) by cash, debit, certified cheque or money order, payable to the City of Owen Sound.
