Temporary Part Time Customer Service Representative

Position Summary

The City of Owen Sound requires a dedicated professional to assume the responsibilities of a Temporary Part Time Customer Service Representative. This position will work 20 hours per week for approximately 12 to 18 months and provide a professional initial point of contact for all visitors to City Hall. Responsible for  responding to the public’s inquiries and service requests at the Service Owen Sound counter in a prompt professional manner, and efficient processing of revenue from customers and City Departments.

The Travel Counsellor will work primarily out of the Owen Sound Visitor Center, providing stellar customer service to the public.  The successful candidate must be excited about our City and able to share information with our visitors.  This person must be resourceful and capable of working alone and within a team. Duties include answering queries by phone, email, and in person.  They will also be responsible for attending festivals and events as a City of Owen Sound representative, updating the tourism database, conducting research, and working with tourism partners.

Assist with operation and maintenance of the Parks and Open Space Division including but not limited to camp ground registration booth duties, campground maintenance, lawn and garden care, painting, cleaning, and customer service duties. Ensure that all areas, facilities, equipment and apparatus within the Parks & Open Spaces Division are kept in a clean and safe state, free of litter and debris.

Under the guidance of the Parks Supervisor, or his/her designate, the Seasonal Parks & Open Space Attendant – Campground Registration Booth is responsible to perform duties related to the booking of campground reservations and to provide customer service to visitors to the Harrison Park and Kelso Campgrounds. This position will also assist with campground and washroom cleaning & maintenance, as well as other park operations including painting and maintain the Harrison Park bird enclosures.

Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Parks Supervisor, or his/her designate, the Seasonal Parks and Open Space Attendant – Maintenance & Security is responsible to perform duties related to the maintenance of all parks and open space throughout the City, including grass cutting, painting, garbage collection, cleaning washrooms and providing customer service.  This position will also be responsible to provide the security patrol function to the Harrison Park and Kelso Beach Campgrounds.
